I’m parenting a child who is afflicted with autism and PANDAS and standing on the Word for his total healing. One of the most challenging symptoms is extreme inflexibility. This is not willful defiance. It’s fear based. His mind will not allow him to do something differently out of an extreme irrational fear it won’t work out. Lot’s of negative ‘what if’ scenarios.

Recently, he was unable to ‘flex’ on an important issue. This inability to adapt was causing him (and me) great anguish. He also said, “God doesn’t answer my prayers”.

Too long to explain, but I laid him down before the Lord in a different and even greater way than ever before, and I prayed the Word over it. In the flesh, in this natural realm, I was getting nowhere and wearing myself out to tears in my futile, reasoning attempts.

There are many other inflexibility issues still outstanding for him, but after I prayed my new prayer of surrender regarding my son, we had breakthrough on ONE thing he was utterly inflexible about yesterday (after almost 48 hours of hell on earth regarding it), and I am SO grateful to the Lord and EXCITED.

The Lord said to me, Remember Elijah and his excitement about the cloud as small as a man’s hand.

“So he (Elijah’s servant) went up and looked, and said, “There is nothing.”

And seven times he said, “Go again.” 

Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!”

So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, Prepare your chariot, and go down before the rain stops you.” 

Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain.”

~ 1 Kings 18:43-45

When his servant reported what he saw, that was it for him. He knew he had the breakthrough, and it was about to pour down rain. A heavy rain.

The Lord says, “Get excited about the small clouds in your life. Celebrate each one because the heavy rain is coming.”

I celebrate this breakthrough. This small cloud because I know the heavy rain is coming. God is our healer. It’s who He is.

In addition, seeds were planted in my son by the Lord that I can prayerfully build on:

• Flexibility and change can bring blessings and rewards.
• God gave him ‘eyes to see’ the good that came from change and nothing bad happened when he was able to adapt (even in the very small way it was).
• God did answer his prayer on this pressing matter, but it just LOOKED different and not exactly how he asked but the answer was still great and showed him flexibility can be good.

This is a huge miracle for my son. Glory to You Lord!!! Glory to my God and my Savior!!!
