Super rough intro of my latest work in progress, “No! God Didn’t Give You a Sick Child.”
Introduction
Have you ever asked God, “Why was my child born sick?” Or if your child became sick, “Why is my child suffering with a chronic illness?” And one I’ve heard often, “Why did God give me a sick child?”
Because of what others have told you or perhaps what you were taught in church, maybe you also assume God intentionally created your child with afflictions or allowed him or her to get sick? Perhaps to teach you some lesson. Have you prayed for your child’s healing, yet he or she is no better?
Maybe you’ve also struggled to find that mustard seed-sized faith to believe God wants your child well since you wonder if He created him or her with those afflictions or allowed them to happen to begin with.
You may even feel like you’re fighting the very will of God when you pray for your child’s healing and instead find yourself full of unbelief with multitude of faith stumbling blocks in the way.
If you’re reading this book, chances are you found yourself nodding to some or all of the above. In the past, I too wrestled with questions like this regarding my son. Honestly, I allowed them to mess with my faith and how I saw my good Father for far too many years of my walk with Him.
God is not the Author of confusion but of peace (1 Corinthians 14:33), and I came to a place where I didn’t have peace about a heavenly Father who is good, sent His Son to die for us, to carry our sicknesses and pains (Isaiah 53:4), yet also created children born with life-long disabling conditions or who “allowed” children to get sick.
The Word says in Proverbs 25:2, “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter.” From these stirring revelations, the Holy Spirit led me on a treasure hunt in His Word to find the answers I sought, and as a steward of what He entrusted me with, I share it with you here, now, in this book.
May the Lord use it to take you on your own journey to know His truth that will set you free. Most importantly, it is always my heart to point you to the Lord, His precious Spirit, and the Word so it is the lamp unto your feet and guide on the narrow path.
For the Word says that:
The Holy Spirit will guide us into all truth, (John 16:3).
He is our Teacher, (Matthew 23:8; Isaiah 54:13).
Wise children of God search His Word to be sure that what we are being taught is the truth, (Acts 17:11).
In being set free by the Lord, I pray I may become a vessel for His glory that helps others be set free and receive their children’s healing in Jesus’ name.
Motivated by His Love
A few years ago, the Lord said to me, “I want You to write for My Namesake. For far too long, My children have been destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). Blinded by the devil and led stray by unscriptural teachings that mispresent Me and cause unbelief. I love My children and want them set free from captivity and every lie of the devil, so they may ask in My name and receive that their joy be full (John 16:24).”
The longer I walk with Jesus, the more His love fills my heart for others. When we see our Savior in the gospels, we see Him continually moved with compassion towards the sick. Unable to bear leaving a single person in its captivity. The only ones who weren’t healed were those who rejected Him and healing for themselves through unbelief (Matthew 13:58). But that wasn’t His will for them.
If Jesus was moved with compassion every time He saw someone bound with sickness and suffering, shouldn’t our hearts be as well? And not only was He moved, He acted. And His heart and nature only allowed one response: He healed them all.
By learning His truth: “No! God didn’t give you a sick child,” He set my faith on fire to proclaim the good news that:
- God does not create sick children.
- God is not allowing them to get sick.
- It is always God’s will that a child be made perfectly well (Matthew 14:36).
“God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him,” (Acts 10:38).
Father, cause my heart to burn with the love of Jesus Christ, full of His mercy and compassion for the sick, that I may partner with You in prayers of faith to heal those afflicted with all manner of sickness, including autism spectrum disorder, in Your mighty name. It’s in the name of Jesus I pray, amen.
In this book, you will:
- Find arguments and misused scriptures that falsely accuse God of creating sick children or causing and/or allowing them to be sick.
- Discover the scriptural proof that destroys these arguments.
- Unlearn unscriptural teachings that misrepresent God’s character and deny the gospel.
- See the misuses and twistings of God’s sovereignty and control.
- Better understand why many Christians’ children aren’t healed.
- Learn your GREATEST proof is Jesus.
- Be equipped to destroy unbelief so that you may receive your child’s healing by Jesus’ stripes.
Let’s journey together towards destroying arguments against your child’s healing now.
