Note: This post contains a public Amazon review cited for educational purposes. It is shared anonymously to demonstrate how easily man’s philosophies and emotion can deceive Christians. This is not a personal attack, but an example of how reasoning that sounds compassionate can contradict the truth of God’s Word. Readers are encouraged to test every belief by the Word of God (Acts 17:11).
“Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ,” (Colossians 2:8).
This is written out of love. For the people who are suffering and for the truth that sets them free. When I speak against “autism” or any disorder, I am not speaking against individuals who carry that diagnosis. I am speaking against the sickness itself, the bondage that steals, kills, and destroys. Jesus healed people because He loved them; He always separated the person from the affliction. That is the heart behind everything here.
Many believers today are being deceived by teachings that sound spiritual but are rooted in human reasoning rather than the Word of God. This confusion happens when people redefine sickness or disorder as identity.
For example, someone publicly wrote the following review of my book — claiming that to believe for healing from autism is “heretical.” Let’s look at why that kind of reasoning is dangerous and unbiblical.
“Autism isn’t God’s Will? Well, yes, if you believe Autism to be an illness, a disorder, or a disability. Yet, it is none of those. Autism is simply a different operating system. No different than iPhones and Android phones, or OS and Windows etc. Should we limit God to creating just one type of operating system, thus leaving the world void of all the fantastic things neurodivergent operating systems bring to the table? No. It’s not only rude, it’s heretical! The thing that makes Autism ‘appear’ to be a disorder or disability is our broken world; culture and society. ‘Norms’ and standards that we have somehow created and try to adhere to, yet all fail because no one is actually ‘normal’. Even neurotypicals can’t adhere to the standard of their own expected ‘norms’, because there is no ‘normal’.
If there was then it would mean God had created us all to be like robots, which we know isn’t His Will. Please don’t buy and read a book that is about trying to get rid of Autism; it’s terrible theology, and will only serve to make your child feel even less acceptable than they already do. If your child’s Autism causes them not to be able to function, then pray that God brings order to disorder, not that He change your child from the person they are, to a completely different ‘operating system’, so that they can be ‘normal’ in your eyes. If He were to do that, He would be erasing who they are, and they wouldn’t be the same person, because being Autistic is not a thing you have, it’s a part of who you are – and that is beautiful.
It is possible to be Autistic and a high functioning person. I know because I am, and although, yes it would be great if the world didn’t judge me by the standards of their different operating system, thus causing me things I have to adapt to or overcome, no one is without struggles and problems in this world. So, if it were possible to get rid of my Autism, I absolutely would not. How do we not know that Autism isn’t the main operating system, and it’s all the neurotypicals who need God to “heal” them? Aha, maybe I should write a book? Non-Autism is Not God’s Will for Your Child? TLDR; this book is heretical. If you want to know why, read above.”
The first issue is the redefinition of “autism” into neurodivergence which is categorically false.
Autism itself = a disorder.
The enemy has hijacked the word “autism” from its original use and meaning and convinced people to misapply it to “a different way of thinking.” The correct terminology is autism spectrum DISORDER.
Child of God, know if you are taking God’s Word for your child’s healing from autism spectrum disorder, these types of attacks (as from this reviewer above) will come not just from unbelievers but from those who call themselves Christians, attempting to shame you into denying God’s Word. We wage not against flesh and blood. We direct our anger at the enemy, the one who deceived them, not the person. However, we must expose these deceptions and know how to shine the Light of God’s Word onto them, so we can answer with “It is written…”
This book reviewer also email a copy of her book review to me because she wasn’t sure if I’d read it yet. She identified herself as a “a spirit-filled, Jesus loving and following Christian.”
So, we’re clear, this is how autism is defined…
1943 — “Autism” defined as a disabling childhood disorder (Kanner).
Child psychiatrist Leo Kanner publishes Autistic Disturbances of Affective Contact, describing 11 children with profound social/communication impairments and unusual behaviors, unusual repetitive behaviors, and a strong desire for sameness—framed as a serious developmental disorder.
To say that ASD is not a disorder is to gaslight thousands upon thousands of children and parents being profoundly affected by it in every way. This is grievous coming from a believer and does not show Christ’s mercy and compassion. This disorder holds hostage almost every area of families’ lives and also brings great financial destruction. It often leaves single parents of children and young adults with ASD in poverty because they can’t work or can only work minimally.
Autism is not neurodivergence. The person above identifies as “autistic”, yet is able to read, write, reason, and also identifies as “high functioning.” Unfortunately, this autism = a different way of thinking deception, has led many to self-diagnose with the redefined version of “autism” too. Unless, there is brain damage/neurological damage/brain/neurological injury[1], that person does NOT have autism spectrum disorder.
Autism spectrum disorder is rarely a single condition. It is commonly accompanied by gastrointestinal disease, sensory dysfunction, seizures, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, sleep disturbance, and immune inflammation[2]—evidence that ASD is a multi-system disorder, not merely a “different way of being.”
Listen to Jesus Christ, the Word, NOT the world
Jesus never taught anyone to equate a person with the disorder attacking them or their child. He never taught us to value, esteem, or exalt a disorder and make it one’s very identity. He loved and valued people and healed them, setting them free from disorders. Jesus never taught anyone to value or praise a disorder. He hated all sickness, disease, and disorder because they entered the world at the Fall. His goal and mission was and is to destroy the conditions themselves. Today, He does so through His church when we pray in faith. Exactly why the enemy tries to use other Christians (sadly) to get us into unbelief.
But we know, it is written…
“For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil,” (1 John 3:8).
The Word of God teaches that sicknesses that attack the mind can also be cause by unclean spirits, tormenting spirits, spirits of infirmity, etc. This sickness as identity agenda of the enemy is dangerous because by embracing it, parents can unwittingly be embracing demonic spirits. Accepting and celebrating the enemy’s captivity instead of Jesus Christ’s victory at the Cross would never be God’s will. No we rebuke these trespassers and cast them out in the name of Jesus Christ!
Beloved of God, don’t fall for the redefinition of words that contradict His Holy Word. Healing is always good and always His will (1 Peter 2:24; Acts 10:38). Sickness is always a work of the devil and never God’s will because its direct root is the Fall (Romans 5:12; 1 John 3:8).
Offense Blinds and Hardens Hearts
When a person equates their being with the condition afflicting them, the result is the enemy is able to lead them into offense when someone doesn’t agree with their personal opinion. This offense blinds. This reviewer can’t see that through this blindness, she has made the entire autism spectrum about herself, completing dismissing and disregarding the very real, factual suffering and devastation is brings to many lives.
But if one has their identity in Jesus Christ alone, there is no room for offense. One will not be triggered to falsely accuse their own brethren in Christ of “heresy” etc. for saying the Jesus Christ is the Healer of every kind of sickness and disease, including autism.
Please pray for her to be delivered from this blindness/self-focus and to be filled with Jesus Christ’s compassion which was demonstrated through healing people, never by leaving them bound.
Know the Word and don’t allow anyone to shame you or “strong arm” you with false accusations into agreeing with and accepting ASD as of God and His will.
“For God is not the author of disorder but of peace,” (1 Corinthians 14:33).

[2] Major Categories of Comorbidities in ASD
1. Sensory Processing Abnormalities
- Hyper- or hyposensitivity to sound, light, textures, or touch.
- Strong aversions to clothing, food textures, or environmental noise.
- “Sensory seeking” behaviors (spinning, rocking, hand-flapping) used for regulation.
(Referenced in DSM-5 and multiple studies on sensory integration in autism.)
2. Gastrointestinal (GI) Disorders
- Chronic constipation or diarrhea, abdominal pain, and reflux.
- Gut-microbiome imbalance and intestinal inflammation are repeatedly reported.
- GI symptoms occur in roughly 40–70 % of individuals with ASD in clinical samples.
3. Seizure and Epileptic Conditions
- About 20–30 % of children with ASD develop epilepsy.
- Shared patterns of abnormal electrical activity and mitochondrial dysfunction.
4. Obsessive-Compulsive and Anxiety Disorders
- Repetitive behaviors may overlap with clinical OCD.
- High prevalence of generalized anxiety, panic, and phobias.
- Anxiety-related rigidity or ritualized routines common.
5. Sleep Disorders
- Difficulty falling or staying asleep; abnormal melatonin regulation.
- Can intensify daytime aggression or self-injury.
6. Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Traits
- Present in up to 50 % of diagnosed cases.
- Impulsivity and inattention often complicate learning and safety.
7. Immune and Inflammatory Conditions
- Elevated inflammatory cytokines, autoimmune tendencies, food sensitivities.
- Frequent ear infections, eczema, and allergies.
8. Motor Coordination Disorders
- Low muscle tone (hypotonia), clumsiness, or apraxia.
- Difficulties with fine-motor tasks such as writing or dressing.
9. Self-Injury and Aggression
- Head-banging, biting, hitting; sometimes linked to pain or sensory overload.
- Self-injury reported in roughly 25–50 % of severe cases.
10. Intellectual Disability and Language Impairment
Non-verbal or minimally verbal communication in roughly 30 % of children.
About one-third of individuals meet criteria for intellectual disability.
When we see what autism really is, it is clear it is of the devil, not of God.
