With intercessor as one of my callings from the Lord, He can give me pretty heavy burdens about things to come, to come against, or a verse to decree over situations in our nation.
Humbly, to someone who doesn’t have the calling of intercessor, I can be misunderstood as judgmental while I’m simply obey the Lord on what to share, what to pray about, etc.
So, a brother or sister with a calling from the Lord to teach, encourage, etc. may reject warnings or prayer burdens I or other intercessors share as not from the Spirit of God or as “mean” or judgmental simply because it is very different from their path, calling, and instructions from Him.
This stance is a greatly limited view of the Father.
Even as an intercessor, He doesn’t reveal ALL of the prayer burdens of this earth to me. I couldn’t handle it. Each intercessor has specific prayer assignments and may be as vastly different even to myself (but never contradictory to His Word). But I wouldn’t dismiss or judge a fellow intercessor as not hearing from the Lord based on that difference. God’s ways are so much higher than ours.
I’ve never had an open vision (like in Revelations), but visions are a promised gift from the Lord, so I’m confident that many of my brothers and sisters around the world have had them. (I’ve had snapshot visions in my minds from the Lord but not an open one).
“And it shall come to pass afterward
That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh;
Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
Your old men shall dream dreams,
Your young men shall see visions.
And also on My menservants and on My maidservants
I will pour out My Spirit in those days.
JOEL 2:28-29
We mustn’t lower God to personal experience and then make our own doctrine called: “Since I (very big I) haven’t had an open vision means open visions are not for today.”
This creates division because churches literally tell people who begin experiencing these things to leave churches. Even people who begin laying hands on the sick and see them recover can get asked to leave churches. That’s a spirit of pride from leadership. Instead of rejoicing with them, they cast out their own brother or sister in Christ. How the Lord must grieve.
We must accept that we each have different but equal callings from the Lord and not allow them to create division.
We are his body each with its own purpose and function. Each function doesn’t negate the existence or importance of the others.
Prayer
O God, make this word revelation knowledge to all Your children. I break the spirit of pride, division, and false doctrine over every church in this nation and upon the face of the earth. Consuming Fire burn away all in the church that is not of You. Help bring us together to be a mighty force on the earth to destroy the works of the devil together, each in our own calling and member of Your body. In Jesus’ name, amen.
