Around May or June of last year, 2018, the Lord spoke these words into my spirit:

Be a spark. Rally My People. 

At that time, I knew the Word wasn’t for me alone, and I shared it with some brothers and sisters because I believed it was for them too, and I believe it’s for any of God’s children who are willing to answer this call.

Your spark might look very different than someone else’s. This is a great thing. 

Some may burn to share the gospel for the majority of their time. Some may pray and intercede for the church. Some may write for the Lord. Some may be teachers, exhorters, etc. discipling and preparing workers for the harvest.

The most important thing is that we each:

1. Be led by God for our life and do the current thing He asks of us.
2. Never compare our callings with others’ or try to have a ministry like so-and-so’s.
3. Never invalidate others’ callings (as long as they don’t contradict the Word as there are many false teachers today). E.g. If one is called as an evangelist, he/she shouldn’t go around telling every other believer they should be evangelizing at his/her level or the same number of hours per day. He/she needs those intercessors out there using their time to prepare the way for you with prayer to the Lord, so hearts are softened to receive.

Spark (noun) – an ignited or fiery particle such as is thrown off by burning wood or produced by one hard body striking against another.

Be a spark. God is calling you and I to be ignited and fiery ones that spark fires in others. To be iron that sharpens iron (Proverbs 27:17) as in sharpening each other for the Lord, His service, effectiveness, and His glory.

Rally (verb) – to come together for common action or effort; to come together or into order again. 

I’m in tears reading these definitions again because unity, unity, unity has always been God’s will for us and something He’s had me pray for for years. This word He gave me might seem far-fetched or too much, maybe even extreme, but it’s not, it’s the heart of the Father and what Jesus fervently prayed for us two-thousand years ago – that we be one, so the world will know that God truly sent Him, Jesus, into the world.

“The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Matthew 9:37-38). 

Father, we pray You send out laborers into Your harvest that includes us in whatever it is You’d have us do. We answer the call to be a spark. To rally Your people. That doesn’t necessarily mean a huge audience but simply those you put in our lives or on our path. That we spark sparks who spark others. That through each obedient one, we are used to set the church on fire for You. A world-sized bonfire that can be seen everywhere. Undeniable to all that You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. That we come together under Your authority and true gospel, so Your great grace and power is upon us to share Your gospel mightily and undeniably in Jesus’ name, amen.
