Autism Healing and Deliverance

Devote yourselves to prayer, KEEPING ALERT in it with an attitude of thanksgiving.

Colossians 4:2

Recently someone whom I am very close to betrayed me regarding something I had expressed in great detail that if they were to do this thing it would be a great violation of trust against me.

I confronted this person with tears, and it took many more tears and words to convince this person that they were wrong and to never do it again.

I forgave the person before the Lord, but a few days later I noticed a hardness in my heart that wasn’t there before toward them and in general. I was still hurt and angry and some bitterness had even entered in. One of the most hurtful things someone can do to me is violate my trust especially when I make it clear that it’s a very important boundary to me, and they complete disregard it.

I talked to the Lord about it, and stony places had entered my heart as a result of this issue. I was still shocked, hurt, angry, and needed healing. I have a history of much abuse and many betrayals in my life, so these things greatly affect me – just as the enemy had hoped when he tempted this person into doing it and in this case with success. Honestly, my heart was broken by it.

With much heaviness in my heart, I cried out to God, and He reminded me about living a life of thanksgiving. It is a spiritual weapon in addition to honoring Him.

I’ve given the issue over to the Lord and still need more healing from it. It’s like it opened some old wounds from past betrayals that were severely traumatizing. But through thanksgiving to the Lord, I do feel my heart healing and the stony places softening to flesh again.

For every crumb of food for myself, my son, even my pets, I give thanks – sometimes by which I am moved to tears by the Holy Spirit. I praise God not out of feeling like if I don’t, I am somehow not pleasing Him, but because I love Him and He is my Provider and deserves all the thanks and honor and glory in it.

“…….O, Lord my God, thank You for the provision You provided so me, my son, and my pets can eat this food. I bless Your Holy name, Lord.”

“Father, thank You for the house You’ve provided. Safe shelter. You are good.”

“Lord, thank You for Your Son, Jesus, whose body was broken, whose blood was shed, so I was healed and saved.”

“Thank You for You Word, Lord, which You exalt above Your very name, so we know we can take it as fact.”

“I bless Your Holy name. I praise You and thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit, our Helper, to get us through each day…….”

It is wise to regularly do “heart checks” with God because the enemy would want nothing more than for us to get to where we allow a spirit of bitterness to make deep roots in us and for our hearts to become and stay hardened.

Even if my trust had not been violated, I should have already been more purposeful with my thanksgiving to God daily for the many blessings that I do have.

Sorry, Lord, my God. Of course, the Word says, there is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1). I know His love is unending toward me, so that’s why He reminded me of His truth – to put on a garment of praise to Him for a spirit of heaviness (Isaiah 61:3). Praise also confuses and routs the enemy from our midst (2 Chronicles 20).

Prayer

Father, give me eyes to see and ears to hear when stony places are forming in my heart that I not give place to the devil through growing anger that turns into a deep root of bitterness. Let me be very discerning of the state of my heart toward You and others each day. Remind me to live a life of thanksgiving. A life of unceasing praise to You, for You, and for Your glory.
