Acts 16:16-19

Now it happened, as we went to prayer, that a certain slave girl possessed with a spirit of divination met us, who brought her masters much profit by fortune-telling. This girl followed Paul and us, and cried out, saying, “These men are the servants of the Most High God, who proclaim to us the way of salvation.” And this she did for many days.

But Paul, greatly annoyed, turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her.” And he came out that very hour. But when her masters saw that their hope of profit was gone, they seized Paul and Silas and dragged them into the marketplace to the authorities.

Did Paul need her permission to speak directly to the spirit of divination to cast it out?

Did she have to renounce her sinful divination lifestyle or else Paul couldn’t cast the demon out?

Did she have to get several spiritual counseling sessions from Paul to be free of the demon?

By the Word, we see that Paul knew his authority in Jesus Christ over all the power of the enemy, in other words over the demon itself to simply cast it out.

We also see there was no need for Paul to do any long, drawn out religious rituals to get the demon to leave nor did the fortune-teller need to repent of all her sins first.

In Jesus Christ, we already have authority over all the power of the enemy. In Christ, we are His righteousness that we may boldly exercise our faith in His Word and Name.

A person may be so bound with demons (1 Cor. 4:4) that they can’t see, hear, or understand the gospel of Jesus Christ until they are set free. Jesus commanded us to set at liberty those who are captive (Matt. 10:8).

We have the same authority over any sickness, disease, and disorders like autism that rob precious people of their health.

Let’s not limit the Holy One. Let’s not be in lack of knowledge of the Word. Let’s know Whose we are in Christ and the power of His Name He’s given us the right to use to set captives free!

I don’t think I can adequately convey the level of religious fear I have lived in that has affected my ability to receive all that Jesus redeemed for me/for my children and family…freely. Of all bondage and oppression, the spirit of religion is the most insidious and deceptive. Thank you, deeply, for this post- I will be mulling it over continually today ❤️

It is absolutely diabolical and the devil’s way of coming as an angel of light saying things that sound good to man’s ears but are pure evil and intended to rib God’s precious children of the beautiful priceless gifts Jesus purchased for His children and for us and that we freely give/minister to others. Long story short, when I was a very new believer filled with innocent, new childlike faith, I laid hands on a woman with chronic vertigo that plagued her terribly and felt the power of God and she was instantly healed. But after spending time in church, they pummeled me with religion, high lighted how I was divorced so God couldn’t use me and on and on with religious lies. For too long of a season, I allowed man’s terrible terrible interpretations and outright opinions to cloud the lens of my heart to really see the Word and Jesus. My son became very ill and the Holy Spirit led me to question everything I was taught. I sought Him, am learning the Word firsthand and am getting set free more and more. My son has been healed of symptoms deemed incurable by man and I will not let go of Jesus and what He alone says until every last symptom is gone. I cry seeing what the devil has done to the church and how he uses the mouths of God’s children to spread religion instead of His pure wonderful Word. God bless. The truth sets us free!

He Healed Them ALL

“Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner,” (John 5:19).

Jesus only did what He saw the Father do, so He healed every kind of sickness and every kind of disease, every kind of disability, even if they were born that way.
