One of the most damaging lies perpetuated in some churches is that healing is somehow earned by our performance. If we’re sick, we’re told it’s because of our sin or lack of faith. But this couldn’t be further from the truth! Healing is a grace-based gift, paid for in full by Jesus’ stripes (Isaiah 53).
Think about the Gospel. When we first come to Christ, we are broken, bound by sin, and far from holy. Yet God accepts and transforms us – not because we deserve it, but because of His great love and grace. Healing operates by the same principle. We don’t deserve or earn it; it’s a free gift made available to all by Christ’s finished work.
Don’t let religious spirits rob you of this truth! They will try to put the burden of sickness back on you, but Jesus already bore it on the cross. He took those stripes in His body so you could be set free. Refuse to accept condemnation or guilt. Healing is your inheritance as a child of God.
Now, this doesn’t mean we don’t have a part to play. We must receive God’s gift by faith. But faith is simply agreeing with and acting on what He has already done, not trying to earn His favor. So if you’re battling sickness, don’t listen to the lie that it’s your fault. Reject that religious bondage and embrace the liberating truth of God’s grace. Declare His Word over your body, stand on His promises, and watch Him move on your behalf. Healing is for you because Jesus paid it all!
