“Rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,” (Philippians 3:3).

God’s Word says we are called to enter His rest since we are in Christ who is at rest and has finished His work for the Father. If you’re tried and frustrated when it comes to standing on the Word of God and praying for your child’s healing from autism spectrum disorder, then perhaps you’ve gotten your eyes off of Jesus Christ alone and believing on Him alone.

Philippians 3:3 says that we are to rejoice in Jesus Christ, and have NO confidence in the flesh. That means we place all our faith and trust in Christ (100%) and no trust (0%) in ourselves or others.

How can we know if our eyes (or trust) has gotten off of Jesus and onto ourselves or things or methods or formulas? When we’re putting our faith in those things. For example…

  • My child won’t eat the same diet as my friend’s child who’s doing great and seeing symptoms improve or Our family can’t afford the same special diet as that family who’s seeing improvement in symptoms.

From a recent post, we see that the disciples asked Jesus how they too can do the same miracles or works of God? And Jesus answered simply, “Believe in Him whom He [the Father] sent.

Is comparing oneself to what others are doing considered believing on Jesus whom the Father sent?

  • I’ve been grumpy lately, yelling at my family and everyone and everything are getting on my nerves. Maybe that’s why God isn’t healing my child.

Praise God, healing isn’t a reward just as salvation (the new birth) is not a reward. Literally, no one could ever deserve or be good enough to “get their prayers” answered. But in Christ, we can rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have NO confidence in the flesh.

Is reasoning that being a grump is going to stop God’s healing evidence of looking at our own flesh (performance) or evidence of simply believing on Him who He sent? (You can boldly ask the Lord to help you with any grumpiness, and He’ll grace you to do that too!)

I think with these two examples, you get the idea of what I’m sharing based on the Word to encourage you. When we ARE “having confidence in the flesh” instead of Jesus Christ alone, it will tire us and even anger and frustrate us.

This brother below has some good teachings on entering God’s rest and placing ALL our trust in Jesus and ZERO on ourselves or anything outside of Christ. I believe this one will be a blessing. I suggest stopping, resetting, and resetting as well, but you’ll have to watch to better understand. Here’s one, but I know he has more on this subject…

He Healed Them ALL

“Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner,” (John 5:19).

Jesus only did what He saw the Father do, so He healed every kind of sickness and every kind of disease, every kind of disability, even if they were born that way.
