God is good, and He made His will known regarding a great many things in His Word. In that goodness, He also included many promises to us, His children. And many of them are conditional requiring believing and praying and not giving up.
The Holy Spirit has been speaking to me about spiritual battles, and the need for fervent, persistent, consistent, effectual prayer in order to win battles for the answers to our prayers to manifest. Every battle is not this tough, but many are.
effectual – producing or able to produce a desired effect.
God tells us we are to pray prayers in such a manner, fervently, persistently, consistently, and full of His Word (life), SO THAT, they produce the desired effect. This is not commanding God in any way. This is taking Him for His Word and believing it can’t return to Him void as He promises. Believing that His Word is also a weapon to defeat the enemy because He says so. Praise God that we can look to His Word and find His will and pray, ask God, and speak His Word – a weapon – to situations to see victory and breakthrough.
Yesterday, the Lord was showing me how giving up on praying through all the way to breakthrough can be like retreating from the enemy, standing still and doing nothing while the enemy pummels us, even forfeiting the “land” previously won in the spirit realm through our many prayers. Thus, just handing over ground we had occupied. God wants us to take back ALL the land that is ours, that was stolen, not just a portion, as any remaining portion we allow him to keep is enough to bring much trouble and sorrow.
What happens with ceasing in prayer instead of praying without ceasing is in our standing still, the enemy beats us back, back, back from the battle line and just railroads us, wears us out until we give up altogether, and believe the thief’s slithering lie, “Sssss..It must not be God’s will…ssssssss.” Now, I am not magnifying the devil here, I am simply saying, we can give up praying too soon and forfeit to that snake in certain battles meant for us to win.
How can God’s very will and promises from His Word NOT be His will?
They can’t. So we pray and don’t give up.
The Lord said to me, “Do not retreat,” I knew by the Spirit that meant, do not stop praying and speaking my Word about it and to it, “Pray through to breakthrough. Forward, forward, forward.” Forward here meaning, “Praying without ceasing, fervently, effectually, sometimes aggressively, speaking His Word, the most powerful weapon, pushing the enemy back, back, back, until we win and take back ALL the land that was stolen.”
“And nothing of theirs was lacking, either small or great, sons or daughters, spoil or anything which they had taken from them; David recovered ALL,” (1 Samuel 30:13).
I could see that prayer was like attacking the enemy – boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom – tearing down strongholds, flattening hindrances and obstacles or empowering us to leap over them, reclaiming land from the enemy until it is ALL ours again. No mercy for the enemy. We pray, we praise, and God fights the battles for us, yes, but we MUST pray. And pray what He says – asking and speaking according to His Word and will.
Forward, forward, forward only. Do not slack in prayer. The Word says, “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force,” (Matthew 11:12).
Prayer can be violent and must be because we are fighting a wicked enemy who seeks only our demise.
I strongly encourage you to read the book of Joshua as a picture of the will and promises of God which are ours, but that we must battle in prayer oftentimes – CONTINUALLY pushing forward – and stay in faith in order to receive (win).
God said to Joshua and the children of Israel (so God’s will): The land is yours.
But the land He said was theirs was occupied with many enemies. Translation. They had to possess the land (the very will of God) for themselves knowing they’d also defeat their enemies if they trusted in God and took Him for His Word and will.
So must we must possess the land through prayer believing and not doubting, in faith. Actively, not passively. Read Luke 18 about the persistent widow about another example of possessing the Word for ourselves until we see.
Jesus won the war and gave us His Word – God won. So we too can win our battles, but we can lose some battles by forfeiting, by giving up before we see His Word come to pass, and blame God for unanswered prayers when it is that we gave up, maybe rejected His Word/will for ourselves through unbelief before we broke through and fully retook ALL the land the enemy stole, etc. Thus allowing him to occupy it, wreaking havoc like sickness and disease, relationship problems, etc.
Forward, forward, forward until breakthrough.
Thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness to teach us in all manners of circumstances. Thank You for showing me this to share because You WANT us to be VICTORIOUS in every battle and have equipped us to win by winning for us 2000 years ago. It is finished. We receive by faith, through believing prayer what You already won FOR us. Hallelujah! All glory and honor and praise to You alone.
