Note: This post contains a critical comment of this ministry as well as a critical book review. They are cited here for educational purposes. This is not a personal attack, but an example of how reasoning that sounds compassionate can contradict the truth of God’s Word. Readers are encouraged to test every belief by the Word of God (Acts 17:11) and pray for those deceived.
This is written out of love. For the people who are suffering and for the truth that sets them free. When I speak against “autism” or any disorder, I am not speaking against individuals who carry that diagnosis. I am speaking against the sickness itself, the bondage that steals, kills, and destroys. Jesus healed people because He loved them; He always separated the person from the affliction. That is the heart behind everything here.
The deception…
Autism spectrum disorder itself is a special spiritual connection to God and a source itself of special spiritual gifts.
Shortly after I published my first book in the Jesus Took Autism book series, I was shocked to receive reviews, comments, and emails from those who identified as Christians, saying autism itself is the source of a special connection to God and spiritual gifts.
I don’t recall when exactly, but afterward I came across this book just below. Note the subtitle, “Redefining the autistic experience through extraordinary accounts of spiritual giftedness.” The word redefining and spiritual are the red flags.
Redefining captivity as identity and calling it good is straight from the dark kingdom’s playbook. And we also note the very dangerous use of the word spiritual. That autism itself is the source for spiritual giftedness, instead of the Holy Spirit.

This is a warning for Christians. This same author has an entire book series on this topic that teaches autism itself as the source spiritual gifts and a special connection to God. But simply using the word “God” does not mean a person is referring to the God of the Bible. Many people use the word “God” while describing doctrines that contradict Scripture entirely. This series does not speak of God the Father revealed in Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit in believers.
The author of that book says he’s an adult with Asperger’s Syndrome who publicly identifies as a psychic medium. He conducts mediumship sessions, claims to contact and communicate with the dead, teaches intuition development, and works with paranormal investigators. His belief system includes spirit guides, psychic insight, channeling, and metaphysical sensitivity — all practices the Bible strictly forbids (Leviticus 19:31; Deuteronomy 18:10–12).
Why his books also teach Gnosticism
Gnosticism is the belief that a select group of people possess secret spiritual knowledge unavailable to others. Like an elite class of “spiritually enlightened” people. It exalts “hidden insight,” “special access,” or “spiritual ability” that bypasses Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Gnosticism always elevates a human trait — intellect, intuition, sensitivity, mysticism, enlightenment, special knowledge — as the true pathway to spiritual truth.
His books teach Gnosticism because they claim “autistic” individuals possess spiritual knowledge, intuition, or connection that others do not. Spiritual knowledge and abilities that do not require Jesus Christ as the Way to the Father and the Holy Spirit as the sole source of spiritual connection to God and spiritual gifts.
From Seemingly Innocent to Full Blown Occultism
The author’s progression of books follows a clear pattern of spiritual deception. His first book above, Autism and the God Connection (2006) is the soft entry—benign, gentle language that uses the word “God” in a way Christians may assume to be biblical, while quietly introducing spiritual sensitivity, mystical intuition, and metaphysical experiences.
The second book, The Soul of Autism (2008), drops the subtlety and openly introduces “spiritual secrets,” psychic phenomena, “heart savants,” paranormal intuition, and metaphysical insight. This is where the material becomes openly Gnostic/New Age/occult practice.
By the third book, The Autism Prophecies (2010), with the subtitle “How an evolution of healers and intuitives is influencing our spiritual future,” the occult content is highly explicit: mind control, unknown languages, spirit interaction, communication with the deceased, spiritual evolution, and autistic children framed as healers, intuitives, and prophets. Paranormal experiences are redefined as divine “gifts.” At this stage it is full-blown spiritualism/occult practices.
A Rejection of God’s Holy Word
Evidence of this false teaching successfully deceiving people. A person who identifies as autistic wrote to me and said:
God has gifted us with an ability to perceive, reason and understand differently. We are the ones who dream dreams and visions. We can see trajectories and outcomes, and with mentorship and through prayer become prophetic. We are capable of having a more intimate walk, much more easily if we are raised with ethics and taught with a more scientific reasoning.
God’s best is my hyper-sensory analytical self. We’ve always been around. Chesterton, Orwell, Edison. But since the 80’s culture has shifted to this homogenised thinking. Thoughts can be implanted with language: My Macys, My Target, My Way. And with this embedding from advertisers, comes a form of being that everyone is swept up into. Everyone except Autistic Individuals.
But God’s Word says dreams and visions come from the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:17), not from autism, not apart from Him. The Word says prophecy is a gift of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:10), not a neurological diagnosis. This autism is a special spiritual connection to God rejects the Word of God.
“There is a way that seems right to a man,
But its end is the way of death.” Proverbs 14:12
The Bible identifies as deception anything that teaches access to Father God outside of Jesus Christ and His Holy Spirit. Elevating a neurological condition above the Cross, the Word, and the Spirit is of the kingdom of darkness.
In ignorance, large platforms are promoting this deception.
On November 8, 2025, this was published on YouTube, “Autistic Kids Can READ MINDS? ‘Telepathy Tapes’ Doctor Reveals All, The Glenn Beck Podcast.
The video’s description says,
“Autism may not be a curse … “it may be a blessing that we just don’t understand yet,” says Glenn Beck to groundbreaking neuroscientist Dr. Diane Hennacy, whose research into the telepathic powers of “autistic” children left the nation stunned in “The Telepathy Tapes” podcast series. The pair go on a mind-bending exploration into psychic phenomena, savant syndrome, the secret messages in our dreams, and the possibility of a spiritual meeting place for “autistic” children guarded by angels. Glenn says, “This will make you reconsider everything you think you know about autism, the brain, ESP, human consciousness, everything.”
The Glenn Beck episode portrays non-verbal “autistics” as telepaths, mystics, spiritual guides, angel-communicators, and “beings who access a special realm” called “the hill,” claiming autism itself grants supernatural powers.
The podcast The Telepathy Tapes is described as being about “nonspeaking autistic children” who are claimed to demonstrate telepathic communication and other paranormal abilities as well as claimed universal consciousness. Wikipedia+2Blaze Media+2 Their muteness is framed as a spiritual doorway instead of seeing muteness as what Jesus healed and delivered those afflicted with muteness from.
- Muteness is romanticized as “a different channel”
- It is claimed to be “the key to telepathic communication”
- It is said to remove filters that prevent psychic ability
This is the opposite of Scripture (Matt 9:32–33; Mark 9:25; Luke 11:14).
If a child is mute due to an unclean or mute spirit (Mark 9:25), calling it “prophetic sensitivity” or “a connection to heaven” is the enemy’s scheme to keep them spiritually bound and is therefore spiritually dangerous.
The Boy Healed from An Unclean Mute Spirit (Mark 9:17, 25)
Then one of the crowd answered and said, “Teacher, I brought You my son, who has a mute spirit.” (v.17) When Jesus saw that the people came running together, He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Deaf and dumb spirit, I command you, come out of him and enter him no more!” (v.25)
The father calls it a mute spirit. Jesus calls it a “deaf and dumb spirit” and an unclean spirit. The muteness is not treated as design or a gift, but as an unclean spirit to be commanded out.
Walk by the word not the perishing world
“There shall not be found among you anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the fire, or one who practices witchcraft, or a soothsayer, or one who interprets omens, or a sorcerer, or one who conjures spells, or a medium, or a spiritist, or one who calls up the dead. For all who do these things are an abomination to the Lord, and because of these abominations the Lord your God drives them out from before you,” (Deuteronomy 18:10-12).
“Give no regard to mediums and familiar spirits; do not seek after them, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God,” (Leviticus 19:31).
“He practiced soothsaying, used witchcraft, and consulted mediums and spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke Him to anger,” (2 Kings 21:6).
“So Saul died for his unfaithfulness which he had committed against the Lord, because he did not keep the word of the Lord, and also because he consulted a medium for guidance. But he did not inquire of the Lord,” (1 Chronicles 10:13-14).
The Holy Word of God is clear: consulting mediums, communicating with spirits, seeking the dead, or engaging in any occult practice is an abomination, brings defilement, provokes God’s anger, and is a direct rejection of the Lord Himself (Deut. 18:10–12; Lev. 19:31; 20:6; Isaiah 8:19; 1 Chron. 10:13).
When people attribute special spiritual powers to autism and seek to operate in that counterfeit spirituality,
they open themselves up to spiritual dangers including an invitation for more demonic spirits (Leviticus 19:31). That is why God forbids it entirely. This practice is no different than tarot cards, witchcraft, Ouija boards, or any occult practice.
“Do not seek after mediums… to be defiled by them.” Leviticus 19:31
“The person who turns to mediums … I will set My face against.” Leviticus 20:6
“One who calls up the dead… is an abomination to the LORD.” Deuteronomy 18:10–12
“Giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons.” 1 Timothy 4:1
“What communion has light with darkness?” 2 Corinthians 6:14–15
“I will make myself like the Most High”
This is the passage where Satan (Lucifer) declares he will make himself like God which is what Gnosticism teaches.
Isaiah 14:12–14
“How you are fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer, son of the morning!
How you are cut down to the ground,
You who weakened the nations! For you have said in your heart:
‘I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;
I will also sit on the mount of the congregation
On the farthest sides of the north;I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,
I will be like the Most High.’”
Child of God, know the Word, THE Light needed to see these deceptions clearly and protect your children from these lies. God gave His Beloved Son to heal and deliver your children from disorders and mutenss, not keep them bound.
