Possess What the Lord HAS Given You

We are NOT called to magnify giants. It’s heart breaking when we minister the Word and Christ’s love to others, and they are unable to receive it. Listening to His very children magnifying every giant, obstacle, and work of the devil in their lives as if they or their power even compares to the Almighty God’s power, name, Word/promises.

Sometimes, there’s nothing more we can say or do but pray for their eyes to see and ears to hear His truth not by might nor by power but by His Spirit.

When we LOOK AT/HEAR a promise of God, we can either be like David, Joshua, and Caleb and take God for His Word, step out, and act on His Word in faith through prayers of faith/actions He leads us to take (e.g. quitting a job, etc.), knowing victory is ASSURED/CERTAIN even if it takes time.

OR we can be like the spies (Numbers 13) who HEARD a promise of God (His revealed will/Word) and CHOSE to reject it for themselves and to enter into the sin of unbelief (willful disobedience; rebellion) AKA the promise REJECTOR.

An excellent reading on this is Numbers 13 and 14. We see those who take God for His Word and the words they SPEAK – only magnifying God and His Word – and those who choose to reject God’s Word for themselves (spies) and the type of words they speak and whose report they agree with.

We also know from the Word that when God promised something, He then told His people now YOU GO AND POSSESS what I have given you. It is not one sided and only God’s responsibility. We have the free will to choose to take Him for His Word and POSSESS what is ours. Under the New Covenant, we possess His promises by grace through faith cased of the WORK Jesus finished FOR US. Such GOOD news!

Read Joshua 1 for a great example of a faith picture of that we are not passive in receiving promises from the Lord…here’s a short excerpt…Joshua 1:11-3; 10-11, “After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, it came to pass that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ assistant, saying: “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. 3 Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses…Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying, 11 “Pass through the camp and command the people, saying, ‘Prepare provisions for yourselves, for within three days you will cross over this Jordan, to go in to possess the land which the Lord your God is giving you to possess.’”

Many of God’s own children accuse Him of terrible things like wanting their children to be and stay sick when it is really ignorance of His Word OR that they have given up on Him and His Word and His very name, Healer.

There is NO condemnation in Christ. This post is to exhort your faith and even some righteous anger that you not allow the evil one to deceive you into unbelief and rob you of God’s promises for your children/you/family.

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.” – John 10:10

Don’t give up before you reap the good harvest the Lord longs for you to have.

God bless!
