You shall not make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause anyone to swear by them; you shall not serve them nor bow down to them, 8 but you shall hold fast to the Lord your God, as you have done to this day.

JOSHUA 23:7-8

The Lord is doing a sanctifying, setting apart work in His people. What I have been hearing in my spirit for some time now for His people is:

Don’t give place to the devil [Ephesians 4:27].

And more recently: The Time is Now. Be Set Apart. Give Place to the devil NO MORE.

In order to be all He’s called YOU and I to be, we must live a set apart with God life. It’s clear in His Word that His children can “know better” and continue to give place to the devil. And it makes sense that if we are choosing, by our own free will, to give place to the devil, that we will also be hindered from fully accomplishing all He desires for us.

Are any of us perfect? No. Will His people still sin? Yes. But the more we abide in Him and rely on Him and His power, the less and less we will. The more sensitive we will be to His Holy Spirit and the sooner we will sense and know His conviction BEFORE we sin and can then choose to avoid it. This is not about living in fear of sinning because if we sin, we have an Advocate Jesus Christ who’s covered all our sins [Galatians 3:13–15] – past, present, and future – but that we can again “know better” and sin anyway and give the enemy permission to railroad every area of our lives. BUT, we don’t HAVE to. That’s the difference.

With His help, it is possible to live a sanctified, set apart holy life. Otherwise, He wouldn’t tell us to be holy as He is Holy [1 Peter 1:15-17] if we couldn’t (by the power of the Holy Spirit and abiding in His Word).

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you,” (James 4:7).

There was a period of time in my walk with the Lord where I thought I was really walking with the Lord much closer than I actually was, but looking back I see many areas of compromise and where I gave place to the devil in my life to wreak havoc. Mainly with my TV entertainment choices. It goes to show us how any of God’s children can be deceived. Even recently regarding some PG-13 movies and TV shows, the Lord told me they are not for His people, that they give place to the devil, and He said they are not for me. Yes, there’s barely anything left for me to watch TV and movie wise because most of it has been hijacked by the devil, but Jesus is my first love, and I choose Him and all He’s called me to over them.

Above in Joshua 23:7-8, the Lord says, “make not mention” of the names of their gods. Well, “their gods” may not have the same names as the ones in Joshua’s time but they have new names like much of what Hollywood is being inspired by satan to indoctrinate the world with to bring deception and confusion even to the people of God. To get us to question God and say as that snake did to Adam and Eve, “Did God really say?” By watching sin-filled entertainment that directly contradicts His Word, we are more than making mention of the gods of the world, we are partaking of them and promoting them with our money and view counts.

Not under condemnation but through His loving conviction by Him wanting me to walk in victory in all areas of my life, He’s teaching teaching me of His ways in this. We can’t have victory if we are giving a place (or places) to the thief in our lives.

The time is now. Because the time is short, and God wants to use YOU in a mighty way that will allow His anointing to flow unhindered. Give place to the devil NO MORE.

There are so many souls at stake. There are so many people sick, suffering, and captive to satan that need setting free. Don’t ally or align yourself with the enemy in any way, shape, or form any longer. Make a choice to serve Him and Him alone from this day forward. Be willing to lose friends, all of them even, if it means following Jesus this way – with all your heart, mind, body, soul, and strength.

Again, not desiring to walk this way with the Lord out of “walking on eggshells” with God but because I don’t want to give place to the devil, and that I love Jesus and want Him to have first place in every area of my life. Though I am in this world, I don’t want to be of this world. And we get to choose. I choose Jesus. Always. Every second of every day with His help. Emphasis with His help.

PRAYER 

Father, I want to walk in victory in all areas of my life and apart from You I can do nothing but THROUGH You I can do all things including living a sanctified, set apart, Holy life. I have eyes to see and ears to hear that the time is short. Our Lord Jesus could take us up at any time. It’s Your will that NONE would perish for eternity and You need fully surrendered sons and daughters who refuse to agree with the enemy and the ways of this word in ANY way to labor for the harvest and to minister to Your hurting and sick people. Holy Spirit I need you to live a set apart, not giving place to the devil life. Help me, Lord my God, every second of every day, I invite You to help me walk with You from glory to glory in Jesus’ name, amen.
